Last night Gert-Johan Coetzee kicked off the first day of SA fashion Week with an exclusive show held at the Scuderia Ferrari showroom in Bryanston, Jozi. For this collection, he stayed true to his extravagant style and flamboyant aesthetic – there were lots of mirrored embellishments with Swarovski crystals, layers and sheer details.
The collection had a blue colour palette running through it – until it was time for the showstopper to hit the ramp. He wowed the crowd with a princess-style ball gown, which had transforming red tulle layers that could be detached to create a train. The bodice was covered in ruby-red Swarovski crystals – matching the racing Ferraris surrounding the audience.
